Here is a list of organizations who are collecting supplies to help the cause. You can aid them too!!

PPE Masks

Around the country, doctors and nurses have been struggling to find masks so that they can visit COVID-19 patients and treat them. There is a strong need for medical professionals to have masks because they directly come into contact with the infected patients, and without them, the death rate for the Coronavirus would drastically increase. Dr. Sandhya Nagarakanti and Dr. Eliahu Bishburg, infectious disease physicians at Newark Beth Israel Hospital claim that “Patient care is being truly compromised because of the lack of supplies. It is becoming much harder to do our job which severely prevents the spread of disease.” The supplies that doctors need are being sold out because of the greediness of naive people who are buying necessary hospital supplies in bulk, leaving very little for medical professionals. As this crisis grows, it is vital for ignorant people to open up their minds and realize the negative impact they are making on the spread of this fatal virus.

Another way you can help out is by donating cotton fabric (similar to the one used in quilting) to the Knit Crotchet organization (see below)

Sunshine Project

Due to COVID-19, many workers have lost their jobs and their way of life. The Sunshine Project, created by Arjun Agarwal (Ridge High School), works to fight this by helping feed poor workers in underdeveloped countries.

Message from Arjun Agarwal: This past week, we have identified 12 families that are struggling in these difficult times. We have distributed Rs. 32,500 to the following 12 families. The intent is to make another payment for the same amount after a month to them. This will use up Rs 65,000 or 50% of the amount raised. We intend to identify and support another 12-15 families over the next couple of weeks.
